School Council Visit Stockport Town Hall

The School Council had an excellent visit to Stockport Town Hall, having lunch with the mayor, touring the town hall and learning about how democracy works in Stockport. The children were able to ask the mayor lots of questions and were able to compare their role as democratic representatives of their classes to that of the role of councillors in the borough.

Stockport Lamplighters Rotary Swimathon

Children from Year 5 and 6 took part in this year’s Rotary Swimathon to raise money for local charities and the school. The children met at Stockport Grammar School and swam for fifty five minutes in three teams. The swimmers chalked up nearly 400 lengths in their session and really enjoyed their participation. The children were presented with their certificates of participation following the event. Well done to all he swimmers who demonstrated how important community involvement is to all of us at Tithe Barn.
