Recycool
 ![]()
The Eco-Warriors would like to remind you all that we recycle ink cartridges and mobile phones at Tithe Barn school. We do this with the help of “Recycool”. Recycool is the number one recycling and fundraising programme for schools in the UK. Money is donated to Tithe Barn for every printer cartridge, reusable mobile phone and PDA recycled, so the more we can collect the more we can raise!!! Any donations you have can be placed in the Recycool box outside Y5’s classroom. You could help out further by collecting for Tithe Barn in your workplace. If you are interested see Mrs Patton for further details or take a look at the website www.recycool.org.

Please check out the following presentation to see the key elements some children did well with in their recount writing. The presentation shows them what they have done well as well as outline features that they could include in their recount.

What we have done in Autumn Term
Last half term we went to Staircase House to learn about Samuel Pepys and the Great Fire of London. When we returned back to school we made a frieze depicting the Great Fire of London and we made our own Samuel Pepys diary and wrote with quills.
Â
In Art we have studied the styles of Van Gogh and Guiseppe Arcionbolda and created our own pieces using drawing pencils and pastels. Â
Â
We had a great Christmas party and look who came to visit!
Hinduism
Today in Year 3 we looked at Hinduism, after looking at in interactive CD we found out about the story of Krishna and the Butterpot, we learnt a little about their belief in God and about a celebration called ‘Janmashtami’

Where did you get that hat???
As part of our Christmas celebrations, the Reception children made party hats at home. They paraded in the hall wearing their creations and choosing two prize winners was a very difficult task for Mr. Buckley. Our student helpers were so impressed they tried them on for size in the classroom later.
