Cricket team cruise to next round

Posted in News, Sports@Tithe Barn by pjones on 21st June, 2007

With the nationwide schools Kwik Cricket first round at Heaton Mersey, the cricket team played three and won all of them to cement their place in the Cheshire regional finals on the 29th of June. The winning runs struck in the last two balls by Alistair Cox meant we won the close game against a confident Mersey Vale by 2 runs. The second game saw several run outs of the opposition and resulted in a comfortable win against Norris Bank. the final game against Broadstone Hall saw some excellent bowling and fielding which sealed the third and final match with a win of 42 runs.Â

Good luck to the team on the 29th in Warrington!

Squad -

Jasper Shead (c), Harry Curley, Hassan Rafiq, Nathan Dale, Alistair Cox, John Gallagher, Jonathan Hill, Jack Humpage and Luke Lewis.

After our drama lesson and looking at how we felt in our freeze frames, we can now start to think about the other characters and their emotions or how they would look. Use some of the characters from the link below to create your very own comic strip with speech bubbles.

After working so hard on your angles and on some 2D shapes, i’ve decided to put a few webpages here for you to play on at home or in the library.

Whats my angle is a fab tool to practice measuring angles and guessing angles on the computer.

This website gives you an idea of all the different polygons there are and shows you the regular shapes… can you remember what it was about them that makes them so special?

This quiz gives you some questions to answer… can you guess what the 2d shape is?

This brilliant site even lets you see the lines of symmetry in shapes

Why not look for more Shape games on the internet through using a search engine like google with the words, Shape + interactive + Primary and see what you get.

ASDA bags of goodies for schools

Posted in News by Y4Teacher on 13th June, 2007

Tithe Barn is supporting the “Goodies For Schools” initiative developed by Asda to help reduce the amount of carrier bags used by their customers. Each time a customer uses a Bag For Life between 23rd April and 2nd July they will be given a green voucher, which can be handed into school, (there is a green box outside Y4’s classroom to put them in).In return for the green vouchers we will receive some environmentally-friendly gifts. The more we collect the better so tell everyone you know!! .

Many thanks

Mrs Patton
