Newsletter – December 2007
20 December 2007
Dear Parents
Friday 21 December 2007 – Non Uniform Day
Pupils can come to school on Friday 21 December in their own clothes (no contribution is required!)
Please ensure your child is appropriately dressed for playing out in the playground at break times.
Health
As the holiday approaches it is a good time to check your child’s hair for head lice. A regular check is recommended in order to keep on top of the problem. The school nurse advises that treatment should only be given once evidence of a problem is found.
Mr Jones
Congratulations to Mr Jones and Sarah on the safe arrival of Baby Emma Louise. She arrived safely on Sunday 16 December at 14.44pm, weighing 6lbs 12oz.
Dinner Money for Half Term – 7 January – 8 February 2007
Dinner money for the next half term is £42.50. Please send the correct amount of money to Mrs Jones in a clearly marked envelope on the first day back after the holidays. If your child is swapping to/from school dinners can you please let Mrs Jones know in writing giving a weeks notice.
We return back to school on Monday 7 January 2008.
I would like to thank you for your continued help, cooperation and support. Have a brilliant Christmas break and look forward to an outstanding 2008.
Yours sincerely

First Drafts – Instructional Writing
After a few short sessions on instructional writing, we launched into writing a piece of instructions for the clay African coins we made. We then looked at our Rocket Writers to see what we had included that was good, and what we might need to add to improve it.
Can you look at the Rocket Writers above and then see if all the pieces of work have the things that we mention in it? – Can you leave comments on the different pieces of work to give the children pointers on what was really good and on what they might need to improve on?
