Posted in News, Year 6 by jrippon on 26th June, 2008

Year 6, Mr and Mrs Buckley, Mrs Mumby and Miss Lagiewka are having a fantastic time at Linnet Clough.

Mr Blackburn, Mr Jones, Miss Vose and Mr Tonge have all visited them at Linnet Clough and have all said what a brilliant time they look to be having!

Wednesday night all were asleep by quarter to eleven and had to be woken at quarter to eight on Thursday morning.

Please find below a few photographs of them completing their activities.

Posted in News, Year 6 by jrippon on 23rd June, 2008

Year 6 have arrived safely at Linnet Clough.

They have settled well into their tents ready for an early night (I don’t think so!)

The weather has been good today and they have taken part in rafting on the Roman Lakes this afternoon.

Artsmark Achievement

Posted in News, Year 6 by Y6Teacher on 11th June, 2008

On Wednesday 11th June, Rhianwen Davies and John Gallagher, Mr Buckley and Mrs Mumby went to the Liverpool Philarmonic Hall to the Artsmark Presentation.

In November 2007 Mrs Mumby submitted the schools’ application for the Arts’ Council Artsmark Award. After this half term holiday we learnt that we had been successful in gaining the Award. We quickly had to make plans for going to the awards ceremony.

Around 600 children and teachers from all over the North West attended the ceremony in the grand surroundings of the Liverpool Philarmonic Hall.

Pupils from a local primary school performed a African-style dance. Rhianwen said ‘It was amazing. They all performed like professionals.’

John enjoyed a performance by a drummer. ‘He used some many cymbals and drums. It’s a wonder the sticks didn’t fly out of his hands.’

The school is very proud of its latest award.
