Holiday Homework – Year 5
Year 5 have 4 bits of homework to do over the holidays, I hope they survive!!
1- Take home and read a book from the class library – filling out their star readers reading records.
2- Create something from a recipe (a cake… some soup..) and write it out for the class to put in a cook book (all imperative verbs in red) i.e cut, boil, tear etc.
3 – Learn your 6 & 7 times tables, forwards backwards and inside out!!
4 – Create a mind map of what you have learnt over the first half term
Have a look at some of these games to help you learn your times tables!
(I like the balloon based ‘number invaders’ using division facts… really tricky!)

Year 6 Money Raisers!
This is a photo of last years Summer Fair in 2008 from the magazine ‘Animal Antics’
Jessica, Abbey, Katherine and Martha collected their own stuff from home and brought it in and sold it all!
They raised an imressive £73 for a charity called the P.D.S.A which stands for the People’s Despensary for Sick Animals. Near the end of the fair, some other Year 6 children helped by giving out posters.
Thanks for everyone who helped!
