These are two amazing websites to help you with plant life cycles found by Torin and Patrick. These two websites help you with everything there is to know with plants. Give both of them a try and vote for your favourite!

Multiplication – Grid Method

Posted in News, Year 5 by pjones on 27th April, 2009

(Written by Batool)

This is a method of multipling big numbers in a grid. You have to break down the numbers in the right collums. Then times the numbers together to get the 4 numbers to add together. Once you have added each pair together you have a answer. Here is an example and a helpful video clip. Do you think you have a another way of working these out?

Can you work out what to do if you had a question like 137 x 23?

Work begins on the Reception Garden Plot

Posted in Gardening, Reception by YRTeacher on 24th April, 2009

After a lot of planning, sourcing plants and designing of beds, the Reception class are beginning to see what their growing plot will look like. Many many thanks have to go to Mr. Cooper and Mrs. Maher who have been putting in all the spade work (literally, sometimes!) so that the children could enjoy planting this week. We have been growing beans in the classroom and are hoping for some giant beanstalks outside! We have also planted sweetpeas and blackcurrants to grow up the canes along the fence, and some strawberry plants in the same bed. We have lots more vegetables and flowers to plant over the coming half-term, so watch the garden grow!
