Gold Leaf Winners get sweet reward
The Kid’s Kitchen has been very busy this week as 26 children made gingerbread leaves to take home, celebrating the fact that they have been awarded a gold leaf for the second time. Gold leaves are awarded to children in the Reception class, Year 1 and Year 2 who show consistently good behaviour. To do this they must be able to share, smile and be happy, include everybody, listen and do, and use kind words and actions. The gold leaves which carry the children’s photos, are displayed on the arch at the entrance to the Sapling Centre.
The children who have received their second gold leaf of this year celebrated by baking gingerbread leaves with Mrs. Stanley. They were kind enough to make some extra for members of staff and Mr. Buckley enjoyed his so much (baked by Year1) that he came back the next day to try another one baked by some Reception children!

Environmental Games
The morning has gone brilliantly! We’ve been testing our senses and communication skills with blindfold walks, testing our sense of smell by making smelly cocktails out of the plants around us, testing our observational skills by identifying unnatural objects camouflaged on a walk, creating pictures with nature, learning about what plants need to grow, a mirror walk where children had to walk while looking at the sky and lots of other things as the morning unfolded! Lots covered and we’re almost ready to have our lunch!!
Brockhole – An early start!
A big thank you to everyone for a fantastic start to the morning! We arrived at Brockhole with time to spare and are now in the middle of our environmental education, making smelly cocktails from the plantlife around us! The weather is fantastic and the view from the lake is beautiful! Let’s hope the weather stays like this all week!
