Sally’s Holiday
Sally the rabbit is spending the holidays with Mr Jones, eating the grass (and mostly weeds) in the back garden. She’s getting plenty of excercise trying to escape from Emma and has a nice little hutch to sleep in at night that we could bring in to school next term. What are you up to in the holidays? Are you having a good time somewhere? Let us know!!

Dear Parents
Year 6 Leavers – 2009
This year we see 18 families leave Tithe Barn. This is always a very sad time for staff at School as they have had contact with these families for many years through older siblings attending School. This year’s Year 6 have been outstanding and have been a pleasure to have had at Tithe Barn. I know they will continue to be Cheerful, Confident Achievers as they travel through their next stage of their life. I would also like to thank Year 6 parents for their tremendous support over the years.
The following awards have been made to the Year 6 Leavers:
CCA of Tithe Barn – Harry Marshall
The Graham Trophy for Sports (Girl) – Katie Thorburn
The Graham Trophy for Sports (Boy) – Elliot Wynne
The Cooke Trophy (Boys) – Charlie Rabone
The Cooke Trophy (Girls) – Jessica Budgett
Dinner Money
Dinner money the next half term is £56.10. Please send the correct amount of money (cheques made payable to Tithe Barn Primary School) to Mrs. Jones in a clearly marked, sealed envelope on the first day back after the holidays. Unfortunately due to the computerized system for recording dinner money we cannot accept any other money included on cheques for dinner money. We also require 1 weeks’ notice if your child is changing from school lunches to packed lunches.
Back to School in September
School reopens for In Service training on Monday 7 September for staff. Children are due back to School on Wednesday 9 September.
School Premises over the Summer Holidays
School is undergoing a total rewire and upgrade of the alarm systems over the summer holidays. We are also having work done on the Reception class playground and completing the final stage of refurbishment of the Year 5 and Year 6 area.
Friends of Tithe Barn
A huge thank you to everyone for attending the Summer Fair and also to the big team of helpers! The Fair raised a fantastic total of £3700.
A special thank you goes to Julie Woosey and Sarah Norton for arranging the Fair. Julie has now kindly offered to take over the position of Chair of Friends of Tithe Barn. I am sure she will make a fantastic Chair and I look forward to some great events next year.
Miss Brown
Congratulations to Miss Brown and Mr Evans on the safe arrival of Baby Samuel, who was born on Friday 17 July, weighing 6lbs 10oz. It was lovely to see them when they visited School today.
Miss Knott
Kelly Knott, Learning Support Assistant, is leaving Tithe Barn on 23rd September to travel to Kentucky in America to join a prestigious ‘American Wrestling Academy’. We all wish Kelly the best of luck – she is a star!
Miss Lagiewka
Congratulations to Miss Lagiewka who is getting married in Poland on the 22nd August to Bartek. When she returns to School in September she will be known as Mrs Babinska.
Miss Wilson
A big thank you to Miss Wilson who has fantastically taught Year 6 since Miss Brown commenced her maternity leave. She took Year 6 on their visit to Lakeside last week which was a huge success. We wish Miss Wilson all the best in her new teaching post at a School on the Wirral. We know she will be outstanding!
Have a safe and restful holiday. I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 9th September.
Yours sincerely

Thank-you
I would just like to say a great BIG thank-you to every single one of you in Year 5 for making my year in your class such a great experience.
I have enjoyed getting to know you all and have loved all the enthusiasm you all bring to the school each day, which in turn has rubbed off on to me.
I hope you have a fantastic Summer break and good luck in Year 6….
