Dinner Money
Dinner money for the next half term is £61.25. Please send all dinner money into Mrs Jones, in a clearly marked envelope, on the first day of term. Please make cheques payable to ‘Tithe Barn Primary School’. Unfortunately only money for school dinners can be included on this cheque. Feedback from the children has been positive on the School Meals which are now being provided by SK Solutions. We will continue to monitor the meals closely to ensure the high standard is maintained. We are required to give SK Solutions one weeks’ notice for any changes made with children changing on/off school dinners. Can you therefore ensure that you provide us with this information in writing otherwise we may have to charge you for lunches not had.

CAR PARKING
We have received a number of complaints from residents on Princes Road with regards to parents blocking their driveways which has led to missed hospital appointments etc for the residents. When you are parking to drop off and pick up your children can you please give consideration to these residents.
Have a great holiday and I look forward to seeing you all back in School on Monday 2 November.
Yours sincerely

A day with Florence Nightingale
Year 2 had a special visitor today to help them learn about life in the past. The classroom was transformed into Florence Nightingale’s hospital and the children became soldiers for the day. Through role play they learned how to bandage wounded limbs with Nurse Buckley, make war medals with Nurse Moss and Florence herself was on hand to help the soldiers read letters from home and write replies. Look at these photos to see us all in action:
Indian dance – the next step!
Last week saw the next part of our Storytelling through Indian dance project take place. Chris the music teacher brought in his collection of Indian percussion instruments and 20 children from Years 5 and 6 spent the day learning how to use them and then creating rhythms to match all the characters in our story. The children concentrated really well and at the end of the day Year 2 joined them so we could have our first joint rehearsal. What a difference it made! Here are our musicians in action:
We have also started making props for the play to enhance our hand signs and gestures. The next photos show the sign for cow and the ‘masks’ the cows will be wearing on their hands.
Year 2 parents look out for your invitations to the final performance coming soon!!!
