A big congratulations to our Tag-Rugby team who competed in last week’s Stockport Schools’ Tag-Rugby Final at Heaton Moor Rugby Club. The team won all three pool games, winning 6:1 against Cale Green, 7:4 against Bradshaw Hall and 5:2 against Hazel Grove. They then progressed to the semi-final as the highest placed team, beating Pownall Green 5:3. In the final, they faced Norris Bank whom they beat in the first round before Christmas. Norris Bank came back from 3:2 down to equalise in the final seconds of normal time and then went on to win by golden try in extra time. Both teams go through to the Greater Manchester Winter Games with the finals being held on 15th March. Well done everyone.
Please find attached the letter that was sent to all parents regarding the development of the wonderful community garden at our school.
Karen and Damyon, working together with Martin Williams at Dreamscape Gardens, have done an amazing job with the concept, designs and development of this special place, with great support from many, including the the SLT team, office staff and caretaker at the school which the Garritys are incredibly grateful for. It will be a beautiful way of remembering Lucas and provide our community with a fabulous outdoor learning area for all to reflect and enjoy. We know it will make everyone smile when they visit this special space.
Vicky Leigh and Patsy Hodson have enormously supported this scheme, helping Karen and Damyon tremendously securing initial funding for the space and introducing them to specialists and people with great experience. Vicky worked exceptionally hard to secure funding from the Bags of help with Tescos, which is an amazing achievement.
Could we ask you all to read through the information and take the time to visit a participating Tescos to vote with your tokens. Please pass this onto everyone you know and encourage them to vote too – as every little helps. The extra funds we could get will make a huge difference so let’s all go and vote.
