Happy Half Term

This term seems to have flown by and it is lovely to see all our new children so happy and settled at Tithe Barn.

Harvest is always one of my favourite festivals and the children gave a lovely assembly of songs to celebrate this special time of year. Our appreciation to the many parents who attended this, and all the children and families who brought in a donation of food for charity. Once again everyone has been so generous. Thank-you!!

I hope you have a wonderful half term and I look forward to our next half term together.

FLOWER FESTIVAL

The annual Flower Festival is becoming one of my favourite events at Tithe Barn. This year the theme was around the world and we had some amazing creations. The children showcased a wide range of ideas, and worked hard to make their unique creations.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Osborne for organising such a wonderful event. When we celebrated Harvest, the school hall looked beautiful. The school raised a fantastic £115.00 for Francis House.

Applications for a School Place

If your child was born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014, you can apply online for a place for your child at Tithe Barn using the online system at:

http://www.stockport.gov.uk/services/education /educationtrainingandemployment/schooladmis sions/applyforschoolplace/

If your child is due to start secondary school next year, you can use the website for secondary applications too. The closing date for primary admissions is 15th January 2018 and for secondary admissions is 31st October 2017.

Parking

I would like to politely remind parents to ensure that they show due consideration to our neighbours when parking their cars. Please do not block drives of local residents and ensure that you park in a safe place and not on the pavement.

Can I also remind parents that the school car park is to be only used for parents and children who have a disabled badge.

Giving Machine

As part of the Friends of Tithe Barn efforts to raise money for our IT they have set up an account with the Giving Machine. This is one of the easiest ways to support our school in raising much needed funds. All you have to do is register and shop. What could be simpler!

The site is supported by a number of big retailers including John Lewis, Amazon and Waitrose- to name just a few.

Visit the link below to support us- www.thegivingmachine.co.uk

Children walking to and from school

Please can I politely remind parents that children in Reception to Year 5 should not be walking to and from school unsupervised.

If your child attends our Before School Club we would like to remind you that they need to be accompanied in the morning as you need to sign them in.

We would appreciate your support with this matter as the children’s safety is a highest priority.

Book Bus

Thank you to everyone who visited the Book Bus when it visited school recently. Your purchases raised £110.00 in free books for our new library.
