Tithe Barn Times 10th March 2017

World Book Day

Last week, we had an amazing and eventful week celebrating World Book Day.

The children all wore some fantastic costumes and a major crime was solved. The mystery of the disappearing gingerbread men captivated the children’s interest and inspired some amazing writing.

If you wish to find out more please take a look on our twitter page or FOTB Facebook page. Thanks to all the staff for their amazing efforts preparing for the day, particularly Mrs Fraser and the ever so guilty Snow White.

We are looking forward to Science Week next week and again will be sharing all of our exciting experiences through twitter and Facebook so please follow us.

Have a lovely weekend. Katherine Muncaster

Lateness

Please can I politely remind parents to ensure that they collect their children on time at the end of the day. Whilst I understand that sometimes events are beyond parents’ control and our first priority is our children’s safety, we have an increasing number of children who are late to be collected on a regular basis. School finishes at 3.10pm for KS1 and at 3.15pm for KS2.

If you are going to be late please contact the office.

Thank you for your support with this matter.

Safeguarding

As a school we are committed to the Safeguarding of all our children. Our school policy can be found on our website. All staff have recently attended Safeguarding training and both Mr Blackburn and myself are trained Designated Leads for Safeguarding.

If you ever have any concerns regarding safeguarding please do not hesitate to contact myself or Mr Blackburn

Bid Writing Working Party

Following on from our success with the AVIVA bid, we are now looking into alternative sources of funding for school.
As part of this process we are setting up a working party . If you feel that you could support the school and contribute to this we
would be delighted if you could attend a meeting on Friday 24th   March at 2pm.

If you are unable to attend and would like to help support the school, please email headteacher@tithebarn.stockport.sch.uk.

Google Chrome Books

As part of our continued development of IT at Tithe Barn, our next phase is the purchase of a class set of Google Chrome Books. These will be used to facilitate the children’s learning across the curriculum and are extremely flexible devices. They have touch operated screens as well as keyboards.

Each Chrome book costs approximately £259 and to assist in their purchase we are seeking sponsorship from local business. If you know of a local business who would be willing to sponsor a Chrome Book or you work for a company that would like to please can you send the contact details to headteacher@tithebarn.stockport.sch.uk
Thank you for your support with this matter.

Rotary Club Debate

Tom, Jessica and Isabelle were all fantastic and presented an informing debate examining the benefits of the NHS and private health care
