It is wonderful to be back at school and I am extremely grateful for all the lovely messages I received during my absence.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Blackburn and the wonderful team for taking care of the school in my absence.
We had a lovely final few weeks of term. We had our annual Road Safety week ‘Operation Eagle Eye’ which began on the 1st April. The children took part in different activities, which promoted their awareness of road safety.
We also had one of my favourite days of the year, our annual Eggstravaganza. We had some wonderful stalls from nail painting, to ice cream making to hunting eggs. The children made a fantastic effort to raise funds for school and our chosen charity Beanstalk.
This year’s charity was chosen in honor of our teacher Mrs Kelly who sadly passed away last year. Beanstalk is a national charity that helps children in the UK to learn to read and develop a love for books. Further information is available at –
Thank you for your continued support
Keeping Safe On-line
E-Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Tithe Barn Primary School. We have extensive security measures in place at school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any e-Safety incidents are recorded and managed. E-Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the e-Safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
As part of our participation in the Speak Out Stay Safe programme, our colleagues from the NSPCC delivered an online workshop session for parents. Please follow the link below for further advice and guidance on how to keep our children safe online.
Following requests from parents we will be regularly sharing websites to support our families on how to keep safe on line. We hope you find them useful.

We worked in conjunction with the Local Authority and had a week focused on road safety in school. There were various activities including learning how to cross the road safely, cycle safety and Year 6 were out patrolling the streets looking at speeding and parking in the local area.
The week began with our
Scoot Fit and Scooter Safety workshops. Every class participated in a session learning how to scoot safely. It was wonderful to have so many parents joining in with these sessions.
During Headsmart, the children in Year 4 investigated what would happen to an egg if riding a bike without a helmet.
Year 6 spent some time looking at the parking in the local area and monitoring the speed of the vehicles. They then analysed the data they collected.
Children in Year 5 worked in small groups to create vehicles and to investigate what would happen on impact.
I would like to thank Mr Stamper for co-coordinating these events and Mr Blackburn for organising the Scoot Fit session.
Our recycling program continues to go from strength to strength. Led by our Eco Warriors we have recently recycled –
- 2048 crisp packets
- 1530 pens
- 260 tooth brushes
What an amazing effort, which has raised £44.16. Please keep sending in your donations – we are making a difference!
As a school we are committed to the Safeguarding of all our children. Our school policy can be found on our website. All staff have recently attended Safeguarding training and both Mr Blackburn, Miss D Vose and myself are trained Designated Leads for Safeguarding.
If you ever have any concerns regarding safeguarding please do not hesitate to contact myself, Miss D Vose or Mr Blackburn
