What is the Pupil Premium and how does the school spend its Pupil Premium grant from the Department of Education?
The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.
Pupil premium funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools, such as special schools and pupil referral units. It is paid to schools according to the number of pupils who have been:
- registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
- been in care for 6 months or longer

Can I take my child out of school for holidays during term time?
Due to amendments to the 2006 regulations (Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013),Â headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. Headteachers should determine the number of school days a child can be away from school if the leave is granted.
