Stay Cyber Safe

Posted in News by pjones on 11th December, 2006

The internet and e-mail have opened up the world to everyone and is a fantastic tool to keep in touch with people all over the world, as well as a great tool for researching and finding new things out.

Even with this in mind, there are dangers online that as parents, teachers and children we need to be aware of.

Below are a few links to webpages that explain the advantages and the dangers of using the internet and technology such as mobile phones etc.

The first is the Gird Club Internet Safety webpage, in which Year 3 will be running as a short unit of work in order to gain their ‘Internet Proficiency’ and be allowed on the internet. These units will be recapped by all the year groups to outline the need for internet safety and to ensure that the message filters through. It is very interactive and is something that encourages SMART thinking! S-Secret M-meeting A-attachment R-reliable T – tell.
