Tithe Barn Times 27th April 2018

Welcome Back
Welcome back to what should be a busy and wonderful final term at Tithe Barn Primary School. I hope that you all had a lovely Easter break.
We have lots of wonderful trips coming up including a visit to Stockley Farm, Manchester United, Heaton’s library, the Year 6 residential and a trip to a local Mosque to name just a few and we will be sharing our experiences via Twitter and the school website.

Bag2School will be collecting from us again on Friday May 25th. Please make time for a clear out in the next few weeks and either drop off your donations w/c 21st May or bring them with you when you drop the children at Cinema Night. We will send Bag2School plastic bags out in book bags in the next few weeks.

Year 1 Multi Skills

On Tuesday 24th April, Year 1 went to Priestnall to take part in a Multi Skills Festival. The children worked in small teams and took part in a range of events.
The children had an amazing morning and one of our teams won the whole competition. I would like to thank Priestnall for hosting such a fantastic event and for Mrs Bridgehouse and the staff for taking the children.

Bee in the City

We are very excited to be taking part in the Bee in the City project this term. Our smaller bee has arrived in school and has been shared with the children. We will now be asking children to think about the design for our Tithe Barn Bee. We are planning a range of events around this project and further information will be sent out shortly.
Wild in Art and Manchester City Council are bringing all of Manchester’s communities together to create Bee in the City – a stunning public art trail of 80+ individually designed giant bee sculptures.
Crafted by regional professional and emerging artists, it will weave its way across the city during the summer of 2018. An inspirational learning project will give children and young people the chance to take part.

It’s free, it’s fun, it’s fascinating – and it will be in Manchester from July – September 2018.Further information is available from

FOTB Cinema Night
On Friday 18th May we are having a FOTB Cinema Night. We will be watching Peter Rabbit, doors open at 5.30pm for 6pm start. The letter for tickets will be sent home next week.
We’re on the hunt for a volunteer to oversee the event on the night (with lots of helpers of course). If you can help us out please
